My tendency is to think of indoctrination as a negative
concept. In fact I think this mindset is probably shared by much of the country.
No matter what affiliation, background or cause, I think most people don’t want
to be indoctrinated or be considered as indoctrinators.
But that’s really how things get done. That’s how people and
institutions and causes get things done. Ideas, long drawn out logic and
carefully considered decisions are far more costly, and risky, than brute force
indoctrination. And so we are an
indoctrination nation and will continue to be until someone tells us not to.
