We are in deciding times. What if you decide to do nothing?
Is there any nobility in nothing? Power in nothing? Influence in nothing? Or is
nothing just nothing? Is deciding on nothing really just deciding not to think?
Can a decision to do nothing come from a series of somethings?
Listen, weigh, consider, do, nothing?
If nothing is something, what is it?
Interestingly, after a quick Google search I found these two
posts about doing things (or not). Two interesting perspectives on the nuance of
doing.
I had two students report today that they did nothing all weekend. When pressed, it seemed that they put a lot of effort into doing nothing and that it required discipline and self-control. Eventually, reporting "nothing" in detail turned into "Something" after all.
